That's right, i started my birthday with a "bang!", People kept messaging me during 12am, the idea of people messaging you in the middle of the night on the eve of your birthday is both Nice & Annoying(sorry but well...its true :D). I was lying on my bed ready to enter my dream world filled with unicorns and ponies(erm...=P) when i heard "Stars"(my ringtone :S) when i read my message, it was from Darrel(yeah he the 1st to wish me happy birthday,Mong was 2nd,Shi han 3rd,Audrey 4th etc...). The same procedure continued for the next hour, put yourself in my shoe, imagine you are soooooooo close to falling asleep when suddenly you hear "Stars", now don't get me wrong, "Stars" is a really nice song and all but hearing it over and over again can really get on your nerves(which is why i changed my ringtone to "Meant To Live" YEAH! >:D), but anyways THANKS EVERYONE WHO SMSED ME AT NIGHT even though you practically robbed me of 1 hour of sleep I STILL APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE :D

Today was a really special day for me as this is my 1st ever Birthday as a Christian(*Clap *Clap *Clap :P). Well the day started off rather quiet, woke up in the morning used the computer, played some songs and just enjoyed the muse(If you think its boooring...then your wrong, Its the greatest thing you can do, Enjoy music and just relax :>). At around 4.39pm, I met up with Fellow Gooner Gerald for a early dinner(lol don't ask why :D) during which we chatted about how Arsenal could still win the tittle(yes we stand a chance!) and about Gerald's late Labrador, I believe i now understand Gerald more now ;D. After KFC we went to church where Gerald allowed me to play his SUPER HIGH TECH LAPTOP!!!!, but the highlight of the whole day was The CG Meeting. Having CG meeting on my Birthday is a privilege as not only do I get to celebrate my birthday I get to worship GOD too?! Two for the price of one!(NICE!). Anyway CG was really cool today! Yassy share with us on how we can go to GOD for advice and how we should make it a Habit to to it everyday, writing this i feel more and more attached to Heart Of GOD Church now, I love the Church, its People and most of all the Presence of GOD :D

Building Maintenace

Yeah!


Just came back from building maintenance, i am dead beat right now, had to clean the railings and vacuum the stairs. I never knew how hard it was to keep the Church spotless, building maintenance is no joke and its serious work, but i had a lot of fun doing it! (OK i had fun, BIG DEAL!)
The most memorable moment happened when i was vacuuming the stairs near the Arcade in Church. I was removing the plug of the vacuum and replugging the television when i saw the wire moving away form me, at that moment i reacted according to my animal instincts and pounced on the fleeing wires, I managed to grab it(NICE WORK! :D) only to discover that my efforts were in vain as the vacuum had already tumbled down the stairs. Stunned i lied there to regain my composure, when i finally calm down, i found that my hands were trembling(guess the impact of the fall was harder then i had expected) but i had more important issues to address, like the wreckage that was once a vacuum that sucked water better then dust. When i went down to check the debris, i was petrified the vacuum was destroyed into 5 parts a base, a ring, a ball, the top & a small screw. Initially i expected the BMIC's to be displeased and yell at the top of their lungs, but instead they asked if i was injured from the fall, they even assisted me invacuuming the stairs(though later Shi han came to help, THANKS BRO :D). From this experience i was amazed at the attitude and efficiency of the BM crew, the way they presented themselves to others are alien to me, today i gain a higher Respect and Love for the BM Crew as they are the unsung heroes who maintan Heart Of GOD the way it is.(THANKS GUYS! YOU ROCK! :D)
Oh and to end things i have to say that my first lesson in MDIS was not too shabby, the lecture hall was really nice! will take pictures when i go back there again(think next monday :D) and the lecturer was really nice and interactive(though the things she are teaching seemed abit inrelevant to IT). What is the worst part of MDIS? easy, CABBING!!! Shi Han and I spent like $10 each on cabs(and i still owe Han $2.50, I will pay back for YOU ARE NOT MY MASTER ONLY JESUS FOR ME :P).

Ministries in HOGC

I've always been curious about how ministries in Church work, like how many are there in Church, how they function, how to join one and why the craze of people to join them. For me personally, i think the only ministry that is cool and worth joining is "Worship" as they get to lead us into praising and loving Jesus.
Well, that was what i used to think until dinner today where i asked Yassy my CGL more about the other ministries in Heart Of GOD Church, what i heard completely changed my perspective on the Church and its various ministries as Yassy explained to me that every single ministry in Church serves an equal purpose and is equally important for example, if the Church did not have a "Building Maintenance" ministry, then Heart Of GOD would not be its clean spotless self and the friends we invite would be devastated by the environment and it would leave a bad impression.
The second example Yassy gave was the "Sound Department", She explained that the "Sound" Ministry makes the people in the "Worship" team sound good as they come back everyday just to adjust the microphones and musical instruments so that we would be able to enjoy the world class performances by the "Worship" team. So imagine without the "Sound Department", the "Worship" team would have to do their own adjustments and not have enough time to practice their singing.
The Last and example Yassy gave was the "Live Feed" Crew & the "Projections" team, she said that these two ministries need to work together closely in order to give us the best visual entertainment we need, so imagine if the Church did not have the "Live Feed" Crew & the "Projections" team, then we all have to squint our eyes really hard just to see Pastor Preach(:D)
So in conclusion, I discovered the importance of every ministry in Church, it does not matter whether they look cool or feel important. The only thing that matter is that without all these ministries working together Hand in Hand, Heart Of GOD Church would not be the World Class Church it is today.

CG meeting rocks!

1 Corinthians 12:25
"that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another."

Roy gave a passionate speech about the importance of bonding with the CG. Initially i was confused and lost as i can't absorb what he was trying to elaborate to us, i thought he was describing the importance of every part in our body, but at 23th April 2008 15:00pm i finally understood what he was trying to emphasis.
The whole point of the speech was to tell us how WE as a CG should do things together as a CG and not as individuals, and when he said doing things together he not only mean just going out together but rather just hanging out after church and enjoying each others company. He also pointed out how every member in the CG is important whether they are leaders or just new members who just joined. This really touched me as for the past few days i was feeling awkward towards going to church as the people i enjoy hanging out with are not at Church recently and i felt like a total outcast. This phrase did not last long(thankfully :D) as i sat down with Mong and Han and we chatted for what seemed like ages, I feel that i am really blessed to be in C1 and to be under great leaders like ROY, Yassy and Ming Rong as they share their experiences to enable us to grow spiritually! So from now onwards i am going to chase after them and receive their anointment so that i can become like them one day :D

Vantage Point Review

Movie: Vantage Point

Movie Review: "A series of events that happened in 27mins, 8 stories, 8 diffrent views but only one truth." "Vantage point" is a thriller & suspense movie that takes your mind to the limit with 90 minutes of non-stop action and a unique plot, all spanning within the time span of only 27 minutes. The movie puts the viewer on the edge of their seats for the full 90Mins with catchy prhases, twisted timeline and a president that has my name(Henry Ashton :D) throughout the whole movie, the only thing that will be going through your mind is "who killed the president?". The character of the movie also brings a realistic feel to the movie, as they suffer from everyday struggles. Overall i would rate "Vantage Point" as one of the must watch movies!

Plot:10/10

Directing: 8/10

Awe Level: 9/10

Lasting Appeal: 10/10

Development: 10/10

Overall: 47/50

Rank: EXCELLENT!

Monday without the blues!

YOOOOOOOOOz...:D

Woke up at 11am today, Quite shocked actually lol cause thats the first time i ever slept to 11am(must not do it again :D). Anyways did nothing but rot in the morning...SIAN! hate rotting its like the worst thing to do in the world, Sit/Stand there stare into space and thinking about nothing. But luckly i was saved by Buddy Audrey :D, she smsed me and kept me company(thanks! :P), spent the next hour asking her questions about her idols movie "SECRETS" lol the movie is, in my opinion, not bad only abit confusing in the end where jay went back in time and took a picture with Rain, the confusions starts when you start thinking about ;what happened to Jay's father, Is Rain the only person that jay can talk to?; And how come Audrey say the Mother of Rain scary lol( i thought she was just alittle overworked :D)



At 2.30pm, i set off to shi han's house to meet Darrel, Xin and shi han to go play basketball :0). Before i go on, I have to Apologize to Audrey, i mean i know i already apologized like 3-4 times already but i just feel that i have to do it again cause i would feel guilty not doing it(weird right?) Anyways Sorry Shu jun :D i promise to treat u a drink and pei ni for dinner lunch or even breakfast in future, remember to remind me hor :) Ok initially the concept for the day is to go to tenaga and play basketball, but Xin and Darrel decided to go eat KFC, so Shi han who has already eaten decided to meet us after we have eaten(SO SAD!)

After Eating at KFC, We headed to Eunos CC and shot afew hoops, Must say, Xin your improving at an amazing rate :D and Darrel your jump shot is fine no need find excuses say your watch too heavy :P.

At around 4.30pm liddat, Shi han called me and asked if we wanted to play soccer, I was like "HUH? who suggest one?", And he said that koon suggested it so after shooting afew more hoops we went to play soccer at "Longkang"; not the real longkang, thats name of the street soccer court XD. I didn't play a particularly outstanding game, more like below average cause i can't seem to adapt to the pace of the game. I think my only moment of magic came when we were playing our last match, Xin played a nice through pass to me and i just instinctly curled the ball to the path of the running Jian Hunt who controlled the ball wonderfully and scored the goal to perfection. Koon said that the pass was nice, lol i thought that it was tyco, but still thanks for the praise its good to know that i am not just a road block :D

Recent Events

YOZ!

These past two days have been AMAZING! many things have happened, i made some new friends, a new BUDDY :D ,i went on a night hike with Ming Rong and Pan : ) and i played battlefield 2 online for the first time ><'''. Anyway going to post about what happened during the two days .

*Thursday: On thursday Shi han and me went to Heart of God Church to go for my first ever Connect Group Meeting(CG). The weather was hectic as it kept on pouring, so in a brave atempt to not be late(><) We devised a ingenious plan! Shi han would meet me at jalan punai there and ferry me to the bus stop with his umbrella(I don't have one at home...). The plan was literally foolproof, except the rain was harder then i had expected. I stood under my void deck looking helplessly at the rain trying to think of a way to get to jalan punai without getting my hair wet. I thought maybe i should go find some cardboard and just run towards Punai to find Shi han, only prob was that the available cardboard are all soaked, Then i decided to maybe go borrow an umbrella from one of my friends who stays in the same block as me, (sigh...) he was not at home. In the end i just ran into the rain with the hood of my jacket above my head. The feeling was exhilarating, i felt a surge of power go through my veins only to stop dead in my tracks when i saw Shi han, He was taking his time walking towards me(=.=''') so in the end i was soaked and alittle bit annoyed. CG meeting was really great, i learned about loyalty and tongues and met a new friend called Audrey, she's really nice and i had a really nice chat with her(sorry bout the short intro, promise to give u a longer one in my next post :D)

*Saturday: Service was really entertaining, Pastor Kevin Loo was a charismatic person who knew how to capture every one's attention. After the Service, Ming Rong and me took the MRT to clementi as we had planned before hand to watch a soccer match at Jeremy's house, on the Trip there i learned a little bit more about Ming Ring and his history in HOGC, plus i learned more about tongues(ITS A REALLY INTRESTING LANGUAGE...if i knw how to speak it...:D). At clementi there we met up with Pan and off we go to Jeremy's house!

The trip to Jeremy's house was a roller coaster ride as we got lost for almost 2hours!

In the beginning, we followed Jeremy's instructions to take Bus 173 and alight at Bukit Timah Primary school and then from there we would walk up a hill and be able to find his house. 1hour later, we find ourselves lost somewhere in Bukit Batok.

For the next hour or so, i dare say that we almost walked half of Bukit Batok(maybe we should have listened to Pan and took a Cab). The best part of the walk was when we walked into a remote jungle area where we scaled the area and got to the end, only to find out that there was no way out...so we had to walk all the way back to the main road.

At around 1.30am, we finally arrived at Jeremy's house(Alvin and Jeremy came to save us lol). I had every Intention to fall asleep on the spot, but the rest decided to go to lan at 3am, so in the end i stayed awake all the while. Before we went to lan, Ming Rong showed us afew videos.

The Day Ended with everyone exhausted from a 2hour game of Battlefield 2(ROCKS!) and all of us got knocked out at 5am.

To End it off, I rode bus 66 home and to my surprise, hardly anyone boarded the bus! haha! ok ending it here now Sorry abour my bad grammer, am writing it with my head out of sync with my hands.:D

Raven 18 Video

This is a video i made a few weeks ago. The concept of this video is of a duel between two players, the video starts off with Xin practicing alone in the court when out of the blue, Amber walks in. Amber challenges Xin to a 1v1(w/e that is), They exchange signature moves on each other all this while Raven 18's Captain and Goalkeeper Koon wei was watching in the corner, Koon Wei was irritated by the match, so he decided to show them a trick or two. The two fought for the ball furiously, but then the ball rolls to the feet of Koon wei who does a cheeky Rabona.

The Purpose of making the video was to tell people that everyone can become a good player, whether they play striker or even goalie, as long as they have faith and determination they will succeed :D

Junction 8 and Slam Movie Review

Back yoz,

Went to Junction 8 with Darrel and Xin today but before that me and shi han went to MDIS to get a better understanding of the courses. It turns out that I actually qualify for the IT course...Sweet!(now the only thing to do is to decide whether I want it anot...great...)

Anyways, after the MDIS trip i went to meet with Darrel and Xin before we went to Junction 8 to watch a movie. We intent to watch a movie at around 2pm, but due to our inability to make a decision we were unable to watch it.

Question: what caused the delay?

Henry:well...the reason is because Darrel insisted that we watch "Shutter" while I insisted that we watch "Slam".

Question: why is this a prob?

Henry:real simple...I DON'T WANT TO WATCH A HORROR MOVIE! Yeah I said it, I hate watching horror movies because erm...well I JUST DISLIKE IT, every since I was young my parents had Forbidden me to watch horror movies, the reason? I dunno, maybe its because i talk in my sleep when i watch them...yeah...a little toooooo much information...pretend you didn't read that :D

At around 3.15 Darrel, after much persuasion and pleading, FINALLY agreed to watch slam with us, though the price of his presence did not come cheap, I had to fork out 50% of his movie ticket for him! talk about tearing me from limp to limp(joking i did it willingly;D).

Movie: SLAM

Movie Review: Have you ever received an unexpected gift from a friend before? like its not a special occasion but they just felt like giving you something? Well "Slam the movie" is close to it, as when the opening sequence of the movie begins, you are literally taken by surprise the film begins with clips of the sky being replayed over and over again, since there is no narration your initial response should be "what is this?! I paid to watch some basketball!", but just as you finish your sentence the movie takes you to the scene of a high school in China leaving you puzzled but attentive. I'm not gonna spoil the plot of the movie by giving you a summary(but I'm sure you all will check wikipedia.org for it :P) what i can say about the movie is that the movie revolves around a teenager named mouth(yeah mouth) and his journey evolution from a above average baller to a competitive player, his life is not all fun and games as he has to deal with the school bullies, a crush and his stereotypical father. The movies plot is enjoyable and enough to keep viewers hooked for 1 hour 30 mins, though some parts of the movie may get them confuse and the explanation of why mouth wears padding on his ankles are not explained, but overall the movies plot and filming is worthy of the viewers money.

well there are 3 issues i should address to.

#1: Is this blog a prank?

Ans: NO, this blog is not a joke, it is just coincidentally that this blog just happens to be created on the 1st of April so please stop asking me whether i made this blog just to prank any of you, cause i not so bo liao into putting all these effort to make a blog then delete it and say..."APRIL FOOLS!" then end up being the real "FOOL" for wasting my precious time.



#2:Henry made a blog?! sure anot?

Ans: Ya, i make blog cannot izit? must go through what procedures?
write out a written copy of my NRIC then copy it 3 times front and back then cc your boss and then have your boss cc my boss before submitting my request to the CEO only to have him reject my request leaving me feeling jaded and dejected to the extent that i would go hide in a corner and do the continuous motion of drawing circles and eventually becoming a very emo person void of all social interactions and human contact and finally dying of boredom(so sims 2 like...). If i were you i choose the method where i make a blog without any one's permission so that the ridiculous bunch of hogwash does not become a reality. :D

#3:NSSL, To go or not to go?
Ans: For the pass few days, Fat Panther has been asking me the same question.

Fat Panther:should i participate in NSSL anot?
Henry: Its up to you bah, you want to then go, don't want then sit out.
Fat Panther:But i want to concentrate on my studies, some more my health was not what it use to be, i scared i play half-way collapse.
Henry: If you so scared then don't play bah.
Fat Panther: Then don't play like let my team down leh...how? haiz...sianz...

OK Panther, Here's my honest opinion on whether you should take part in the NSSL anot if i say anything that insults you, please don't take it to heart :) Well, i personally think that since you are the person that initiate the idea of taking part in the NSSL this year, i feel that you should lead by example and take part in the NSSL. However, since you insist that you need to concentrate on you studies and that you have bad health then i advice you not to participate

Fat Panther:But what about my team?

Truth be told, If your team truly care about you, they will understand and not pursue the matter, however if they insist on making you take part and risk your academic and physical sanction, then i can safely comment that these are not you real friends, as the last time i checked, friends are two bodies that share the same mind. So Panther, stop living in a life filled with guilt and dilemma, open your heart and tell them what you really want and feel because hiding from your problems only result in more problems, You have to attack your problems in order for them to go away. Always live life on the offensive, living life defensively are for those who have weak faith. Believe in yourself and you will prevail.

I believe in you and i respect every single decision you make. May you find peace in your heart
